Epilogue: (4) Wedding Night

The night was naturally colored brightly—the moonlight outside the French-style windows sneakily infiltrated the house and sprinkled sparkling, translucent shadows on the floor of the wedding room.

The lights in the room had all been turned off, leaving only one colored candle to illuminate. In the warm and hazy candlelight, the newlywed was hiding beneath the new blanket with their fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard.

Bai Luoyin contemplated for a moment before he looked at his own laptop screen. “The banquet had a total of 18 tables that were 9999 yuan each and cost about 1.2 million. We gave out more than ten thousand yuan of red envelopes to the hotel staff, plus the wedding hall decoration, the purchase of clothes, jewelry and wedding supplies, the final amount is roughly five million. “Did calculate in the gift money that our parents gave us?”[2] Gu Hai reminded.

Bai Luoyin slapped his own forehead, “Oh…I forgot. I haven’t opened the red envelope yet.

As he said that, he quickly got off the bed and took out the red envelope that Gu Weiting had squeezed into his hands. He took a sneak peek only to be momentarily shocked, and then after that, the corners of his mouth pulled back into a wide grin—looking extremely satisfied at the gift.

Gu Hai’s mood was surging with rage as disdainful expression appeared. “That’s such a small reward yet he still dares to give it?”

“This type of thing is his kind intention[3], you can’t just use money to measure it.” Bai Luoyin explained as he turned over to look at Gu Hai. “How much did my father give you?”

“I’m not going to tell you.” Gu Hai feigned mysteriousness.

Bai Luoyin pushed the laptop to the side and suddenly pounced on Gu Hai while violating and urging him at the same time. “Hurry up and say it! How much was it?”

Gu Hai stubbornly resisted for quite a while before he confessed. “Our dad did not gift me with money. It is also an extraordinary kind intention.”

“What kind intention?”

“Our dad won’t let me tell you.”

“Who are you fucking closer to, huh?” Bai Luoyin took Gu Hai’s nipples as screws and twisted them extra hard until the owner himself wailed in pain.

“Closer to you, closer to you…” He replied, begging for mercy. “Inside the red envelope, our dad wrote, ‘As the father of Bai Luoyin, I, especially bestow Comrade Gu Hai the following privileges: First, Bai Luoyin must change the way he addresses Gu Hai to ‘laogong’, at least ten times a day; second, Bai Luoyin must no longer implement domestic violence against Gu Hai and instead reserve that energy toward wholeheartedly serving his ‘laogong’; third…”

Before Gu Hai could finish speaking, his nipples were firmly pulled up three centimeters and twisted around three times. Not to be outdone, Gu Hai stretched his mischievous hands toward Bai Luoyin’s waist and wickedly nudged and poked it. Soon, the two launched an all-out ‘vicious battle’ on the bed.

“Alright, alright…stop messing around…” Gu Hai held Bai Luoyin down, “Let’s just wash up and go to sleep afterward.”

“Didn’t we bathe and washed up already?”

“Didn’t you just touch the laptop again just now? Go and wash your hands and face again.”

Bai Luoyin thought that it was too troublesome and pressed his head down without budging. “You can go alone, I’m going straight to bed.”

“No, that’s out of the question!” Gu Hai firmly fought back. “I did not pursue it before, but now that I’m your husband, I have the right to manage[4] you. Get up! Be quick!!”

Bai Luoyin opened one of his eyes to see Commander Gu Hai handsomely strutting around before him with a deadly earnest appearance as if he was actually the master of the house. He could not help but pfft-ed and laughed out cheerfully when a darkened face and intimidating Gu Hai pulled him into the bathroom.

“I can wash myself!” Bai Luoyin said.

Gu Hai casually smacked Bai Luoyin’s hands away, squeezed out some cleansing foam and smeared it on his face. The two stood facing each other as Gu Hai patiently and attentively coated the foam evenly while Bai Luoyin closed his eyes and peacefully enjoyed Gu Hai’s personal service.  

“Your skin is the sensitive type. If every night after you play on the laptop and don’t wash your face, you’ll definitely get pimples the next day.” Gu Hai said with utmost earnest.

Bai Luoyin tried to open his eyes to look at Gu Hai but that only earned him a whack on his head. “Keep them close! Be careful or the foam will get into your eyes.”

Bai Luoyin wanted to open his mouth to say something, but Gu Hai pinched his cheeks. “Keep it close! Be careful or the foam will get into your mouth.

By the time his face was wiped dry, Bai Luoyin opened his eyes only to see that Gu Hai had already turned around to get the skincare products.

“I…”

Just as he was about to speak, Gu Hai turned around again and applied the skincare product evenly on Bai Luoyin’s cheeks. Feeling the gentle caress that came from Gu Hai’s hands, Bai Luoyin’s heart felt a kind of warmth he had never felt before.

“What are you looking at me like that for?” Gu Hai pinched Bai Luoyin’s nose.

Bai Luoyin went quiet for a long while before he mumbled, “We’re married now.”

Gu Hai’s hand paused, “What’s wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

“No.” Bai Luoyin appeared as if he had just realized that idea and laughed mischievously. “It feels amazing.”

Amused by Bai Luoyin’s rare display of foolishness, Gu Hai immediately looked at his lips and took a bit then softly said: “From now on, we’re a family. If I become poor and dejected, you have to also endure it with me and if you become lame and handicapped, I will also take care of you for the rest of your life.”

The colored candlelight on the wall flickered faintly, generating an unearthly atmosphere of warmth and harmony in the backdrop that reflected their current feelings.

Tonight, the Gu Hai who had always been impatient was now also intoxicated in the gentle and soft home where his beloved will forever remain present. For the longest of time, he was reluctant to undo his lover’s clothes lest he will be remiss in this precious night.

In the end, Bai Luoyin turned over first and pressed Gu Hai down. His tongue quietly traced his lips as his semi-opened, semi-narrowed eyes swept toward Gu Hai—setting off an intensely stormy sea in his eyes.

“Nothing…” Gu Hai snuggled his head into the pillow and smile, “It’s your turn.”

All that messing around was the result of Gu Hai wanting to call out ‘laogong’ in exchange for Bai Luoyin calling out ‘laogong’.

Bai Luoyin immediately answered back, “Laopo.”²¹

Gu Hai, “…”

After some time, like a porky insect, Gu Hai cuddled up to Bai Luoyin again. “Today is our wedding night, can’t you loosen up your mouth a bit? I called you so many times already.”

“Didn’t I do that just now?” Bai Luoyin said.

“I still want to hear it. Even if I hear it a thousand times, ten thousand times, a million times, it still wouldn’t be enough. Just let me hear you say ‘laogong’! As long as you are willing to say it, your laogong will give you a reward.”

“Give what? How much?” Bai Luoyin asked.

“Once you say it, I will tell you.” After that, he shouted ‘laogong’ several more times as a gift to Bai Luoyin.

With that, Bai Luoyin could only tackle the difficult mission once more and shout out that awkward-sounding word.

“Laogong…”

Gu Hai affectionately pressed Bai Luoyin beneath him at once and bit on his chin. “My good baobei, laogong will give you all your reward now. However much you want, I will give it to you.”
