Three police cars parted ways at a fork in the road, and the car carrying Qi Xiu Yuan and Xiao Li made a turn toward the other direction. The driver looked back and said, “You two really are……that something, huh?”

On the road back into the city, Li Shi Qing was intercepted as a row of cars with their high beam headlights on lined up at the roundabout on the spacious and empty pavement, waiting for him in a rather grand gesture.

This time, the driver was Ah Long. He uttered a bitter curse then pressed hard on the accelerator, frantically increasing the speed of the car. As he steered the wheel just the slightest, he fiercely held on to the brake clutch. Seeing that the car was about to collide head on into the car stationed in the middle of the road, Ah Long immediately turned the steering wheel, he pulled the hand brake. As the piercing sound of the tires screeched against the ground, the car abruptly took a wide drift and missed the collision. “This group of kids only thought they were coming here to rescue a disabled hostage, so when they saw Qi Xiu Yun, they weren’t on guard at all. But, this guy is extremely sly. In less than a few words, he was able to get some information out of us. Then he acted all pompous and got Laohu close enough to him before he snatched the walkie-talkie. Afterward, taking advantage of the commotion, he locked himself on the balcony.”

Wu Qing Hua walked and mumbled to himself. He, himself, doesn’t even know if he was complaining that his men were terrible or explaining to Xiao Li that ordinarily his men were actually not that terrible. Read more

After what seemed like several minutes and several few more seconds, Li Shi Qing recovered. His brows slowly pulled together into a frown before he turned around to look at Xiao Li.

Xiao Li was expressionless.

Li Shi Qing turned back, narrowed his eyes and stared at Qi Xiu Yuan for a long time, observing him. Finally, he coldly said, “It’s best if you don’t play any tricks with me.” Read more

Back in the room, the subordinate at the door, the bodyguards and Qi Xiu Yuan were still in their original position but when Li Shi Qing and Xiao Li walked in, all their eyes swept toward them.

Xiao Li did not know his lips—that had been kissed—was still captivatingly red, holding a hint of saliva that was glinting against the light in the room. All he saw and felt was the look in Qi Xiu Yuan’s eyes that made him appear he wanted to fight with someone as if his life depended on it. The look was so intense that it made Xiao Li afraid, afraid that Qi Xiu Yuan would say some inappropriate words and provoke Li Shi Qing’s anger.  Read more

When Xiao Li was standing in the corridor, the care taker that Li Shi Qing had specifically hired to take care of him quickly rushed over to hand a pair of slippers to him.

“Mr. Xiao, can you take me into consideration for a moment? Even if you suddenly run off like that, at the least don’t go out barefoot,” said the middle-aged woman with her hair rolled up into a bun rather helplessly, “Mr. Li will blame me if you do this.”  Read more
