Seventy Nine – END
Three police cars parted ways at a fork in the road, and the car carrying Qi Xiu Yuan and Xiao Li made a turn toward the other direction. The driver looked back and said, “You two really are……that something, huh?”
Li Shi Qing has never felt so miserable. With Xiao Li’s departure, it was like a large portion of his vitality was taken away, making it seem as if he has aged ten years because of this. Continue reading
On the road back into the city, Li Shi Qing was intercepted as a row of cars with their high beam headlights on lined up at the roundabout on the spacious and empty pavement, waiting for him in a rather grand gesture.
This time, the driver was Ah Long. He uttered a bitter curse then pressed hard on the accelerator, frantically increasing the speed of the car. As he steered the wheel just the slightest, he fiercely held on to the brake clutch. Seeing that the car was about to collide head on into the car stationed in the middle of the road, Ah Long immediately turned the steering wheel, he pulled the hand brake. As the piercing sound of the tires screeched against the ground, the car abruptly took a wide drift and missed the collision. After the car came to a stop, the driver of the other car waited for them to take off again. Continue reading
“This group of kids only thought they were coming here to rescue a disabled hostage, so when they saw Qi Xiu Yun, they weren’t on guard at all. But, this guy is extremely sly. In less than a few words, he was able to get some information out of us. Then he acted all pompous and got Laohu close enough to him before he snatched the walkie-talkie. Afterward, taking advantage of the commotion, he locked himself on the balcony.”
Wu Qing Hua walked and mumbled to himself. He, himself, doesn’t even know if he was complaining that his men were terrible or explaining to Xiao Li that ordinarily his men were actually not that terrible. Continue reading
A little later into the night, Li Shi Qing had someone brought food over to Xiao Li’s room so that they can have dinner together.
Two bodyguards were standing behind him, but they were not the same men from before. Since the incident with Yan Ming and Liu Zi Cheng, Li Shi Qing has started to utilize all the bodyguards. Every day, four groups of men would switch off to protect him. Continue reading
After what seemed like several minutes and several few more seconds, Li Shi Qing recovered. His brows slowly pulled together into a frown before he turned around to look at Xiao Li.
Xiao Li was expressionless.
Li Shi Qing turned back, narrowed his eyes and stared at Qi Xiu Yuan for a long time, observing him. Finally, he coldly said, “It’s best if you don’t play any tricks with me.” Continue reading
Back in the room, the subordinate at the door, the bodyguards and Qi Xiu Yuan were still in their original position but when Li Shi Qing and Xiao Li walked in, all their eyes swept toward them.
Xiao Li did not know his lips—that had been kissed—was still captivatingly red, holding a hint of saliva that was glinting against the light in the room. All he saw and felt was the look in Qi Xiu Yuan’s eyes that made him appear he wanted to fight with someone as if his life depended on it. The look was so intense that it made Xiao Li afraid, afraid that Qi Xiu Yuan would say some inappropriate words and provoke Li Shi Qing’s anger. Continue reading
When Xiao Li was standing in the corridor, the care taker that Li Shi Qing had specifically hired to take care of him quickly rushed over to hand a pair of slippers to him.
“Mr. Xiao, can you take me into consideration for a moment? Even if you suddenly run off like that, at the least don’t go out barefoot,” said the middle-aged woman with her hair rolled up into a bun rather helplessly, “Mr. Li will blame me if you do this.” Continue reading

After saying those few words, Qi Xiu slowly walked toward the door. All the while, from behind him, the two men looked at each other with the eyes urging the other to take action, but ultimately no one moved.
Once at the door, Qi Xiu Yuan simply looked back at them. Continue reading

Li Shi Qing’s raging anger turned into laughter instead, “Yan Ming, you really have the guts and a hell of a brain.”
“You’re being too kind, too kind,” said Yan Ming cheerfully as he walked toward Li Shi Qing and stood in front of him at a distant slightly far away, while Xiao Li followed beside him. “It’s obvious that Xiao Li and I have joined force, why are you saying this to me and not to him? Then there’s Liu Zi Cheng, who had schemed to kill you, yet you wanted him to be your successor? I’m jealous that you’re not afraid of your nephew…even if I see you as my uncle, this gun here doesn’t.” Continue reading
As Li Shi Qing got up and retreated, he kept his head low allowing his expression to be hidden in the shadows.
“Qing……Qing Ye,” stammered Liu Zi Cheng from behind, sounding as if he has not fully recovered from the shock. From his point of view, Li Shi Qing’s back seemed to be beaten with exhaustion. He sighed deeply, picked up his gun and quietly said, “I really didn’t expect……”
“I also didn’t expect this.” Liu Zi Cheng’s voice sounded off again. However, this time it had changed from being waned with shock to being cooked with steadiness and danger as it traveled closely to Li Shi Qing’s right side. Continue reading
